Terms and Conditions – SEPTEMBER 2026

MAD FISH PERFORMING ARTS

TERMS & CONDITIONS

Effective September 2026

An independent, family-run performing arts school where performing arts has a heart.

Welcome to Mad Fish Performing Arts!

We pride ourselves on providing professional performing arts training in a friendly, supportive and encouraging environment.

To ensure the smooth running of our school and fairness to all students, families and teaching staff, the following Terms & Conditions apply to bookings made fromSeptember 2026.

By enrolling, parents and guardians agree to the following conditions.

1. TERM BOOKINGS

  1. Our regular classes operate on a termly basis, normally consisting of 10 or 12 weeks.

  2. All termly bookings are for the full advertised term.

  3. When a place is booked, it is reserved exclusively for that student for the duration of the term.

  4. Class places are limited, and accepting a booking may prevent another student from joining.

  5. Parents are responsible for ensuring that their chosen class is suitable and compatible with other family commitments before booking.

  6. Students are not required to attend every session, but non-attendance does not automatically reduce the term fee.

2. FEES & PAYMENTS

  1. Fees are charged per term, not per individual lesson attended.

  2. Full payment must be received by the published payment deadline unless an alternative arrangement has been agreed in writing.

  3. Payment arrangements must be agreed before the term begins.

  4. Once a booking is confirmed, the place is reserved for the full term.

  5. Failure to attend classes does not automatically remove the obligation to pay fees properly due under the booking agreement.

  6. Mad Fish Performing Arts may release an unpaid place after giving reasonable notice.

3. CANCELLATIONS & REFUNDS

Booking a termly class represents a commitment to the full term.

Our teaching staff, venues and class numbers are organised around confirmed enrolments.

For this reason:

  1. We do not normally offer refunds for voluntary withdrawal once the term has begun.

  2. Refunds are not available for missed classes, holidays, timetable clashes, changes of mind or competing commitments.

  3. A decision to stop attending does not, by itself, cancel the booking or create an entitlement to a refund.

  4. Parents wishing to withdraw a student must notify Mad Fish Performing Arts in writing.

  5. Where a booking is cancelled, any amount retained will reflect the services already supplied and reasonable costs or losses arising from the cancellation, taking account of costs saved and any opportunity to fill the place.

  6. We reserve the right to retain fees where doing so is fair, proportionate and legally permitted.

  7. Requests arising from exceptional circumstances, such as serious illness or significant family difficulties, will be considered individually.

  8. Any discretionary refund or credit offered in one case does not establish an entitlement to the same arrangement in future cases.

Our standard policy is that term fees are non-refundable for voluntary withdrawal, except where a refund is required by law or is otherwise appropriate under these terms.

4. CHANGING CLASSES

We are happy to help students find the most suitable training where possible.

However:

  1. Class changes are subject to availability and approval.

  2. A request to try another class does not cancel the student’s original booking.

  3. Trialling alternative classes does not create an entitlement to a refund for previously reserved sessions.

  4. All permanent class transfers must be agreed in writing.

  5. Any difference in fees will be confirmed before a transfer is agreed.

  6. Repeated class changes cannot be guaranteed.

  7. If a student subsequently withdraws because alternative classes do not suit their timetable, the standard cancellation policy applies.

5. MISSED CLASSES

  1. No automatic refunds or credits are provided for individual missed sessions.

  2. This includes absences caused by illness, holidays, school commitments, family arrangements or other activities.

  3. Alternative sessions may occasionally be offered at our discretion, subject to suitability and availability.

  4. Missed classes cannot automatically be carried forward into another term.

6. TRIAL SESSIONS

  1. Trial sessions must be arranged in advance.

  2. Availability is not guaranteed.

  3. Trial fees, where applicable, will be confirmed before attendance.

  4. A trial does not guarantee a permanent place.

  5. Once a full-term booking is confirmed, the normal termly conditions apply.

7. CLASS CANCELLATIONS BY MAD FISH

  1. We reserve the right to make reasonable changes to teachers, venues and class arrangements.

  2. Where a class cannot take place, we will endeavour to arrange a replacement.

  3. Where a suitable replacement cannot be provided, an appropriate refund or credit will be offered.

  4. If significant changes mean we cannot provide the service agreed, families will retain their statutory rights to an appropriate remedy.

8. ATTENDANCE & COMMITMENT

  1. Regular attendance is strongly encouraged.

  2. Students participating in productions, examinations or performance groups may be required to attend additional rehearsals.

  3. Parents will be contacted if concerns arise.

  4. We reserve the right to review a student’s place where behaviour presents ongoing difficulties.

  5. Any suspension or termination of enrolment will be handled fairly, with appropriate consideration of individual circumstances and refund rights.

10. SAFEGUARDING & COLLECTION

  1. The safety and wellbeing of our students is paramount.

  2. Parents must provide accurate emergency contact information.

  1. Participation in performances may involve additional rehearsals and costs.

  2. Any compulsory additional charges will be communicated in advance.

  3. Casting decisions are made by the creative team.

  4. Individual roles, solos and performance opportunities cannot be guaranteed.

  5. Students participating in productions are expected to demonstrate appropriate commitment.

13. PRE-PROFESSIONAL & INVITATION CLASSES

  1. Certain classes operate by invitation, audition or assessment.

  3. Placement may be reviewed according to the needs of the student and programme.

  4. Additional rehearsal and performance requirements will be communicated in advance.

14. PRIVATE LESSONS

  1. One-to-one lessons may have separate booking and cancellation arrangements.

  2. These will be communicated at the time of booking.

  3. Cancellation charges will be reasonable and proportionate.

  4. Where Mad Fish cancels a private lesson, an alternative appointment or appropriate refund will be offered.

15. ONLINE BOOKINGS & STATUTORY RIGHTS

Where bookings are made online or at a distance, any applicable statutory cancellation rights will be respected.

Certain services may qualify for exemptions from the usual 14-day cancellation period, depending on the nature of the booking.

Where a statutory cancellation right applies and tuition has already begun at the customer’s express request, any permitted charge for services supplied will be calculated in accordance with consumer law.

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions removes or restricts statutory consumer rights.

16. COMMUNICATION

  1. Important information will be provided through our usual communication channels.

  2. Parents are responsible for checking timetables, messages and updates.

  3. Any concerns should be raised directly with Mad Fish Performing Arts.

Any such charge will reflect genuine costs incurred and will not exceed the reasonable cost of processing the cancellation.

Administration costs will not be charged twice or duplicated within other cancellation charges.

No administration charge will be deducted where a full refund is required under applicable consumer law.

All cancellation requests must be submitted in writing.
